Depends- is there an id or name in said bag? If yes, it's going to the police, NOT walmart. I wish I would trust that much money with a walmart associate, lol.

Downvote me all you want, but most of you would probably do the SAME THING and you know it! I'm all for doing a good deed and being a good samaritan- but have y'all seen grocery prices and utility bills lately? I can put that money to good use, haha.

I'd be smart about it. Put about 1000 in the bank. Open up a separate savings/Christmas account at a credit union a good chunk of money there. Too much money in one bank seems suspicious.

The rest I'd keep out and buy things for my house: repairs, new exercise equipment... make sure all bills are paid off. Oh yeah, I'd put that money to good use.

If it was at Walmart I'd keep it. Somewhere else like a church or library then I might turn it in.

Reason why I'm saying that is because walmart is trashy if I turned that into a worker they'd keep it for themselves and not help find the owner

take it to the customer service or the police. a lesson everyone should know is if you find lots of money there is someone out there desperately looking for lots of money. and if they have that much money on hand they probably have a lot of money and reason to find that large amount of money.

I would turn it in at the local police station. I would not turn it in at the store... Walmart employees are too tempted to keep it for themselves. Plus, if I turn it into the police and no one claims it after a year, it becomes mine.

Looks like my wallet back then when I was paid in cash.  I would call the police and would make sure they found the person who lost it.  I know I’d not want to have it lost.

As for me I work for my money & I would do the right thing & not take someone else’s money. Nowadays cameras are everywhere so I would turn in the wallet & have store security review the camera footage to find the rightful owner.

I once returned a wallet of a client by running after him... the security guy asked me not to but i still gave him back n the security guy complained to the manager's guy n he kept my 2 daysof earnings as a fine... i paid for my honesty...

N the worst thing is the client accused me of stealing some money from his wallet which i absolutely did not

Everyone says " I would turn it in " oh please we all say that. lets face reality is we all are bunch of greedy people and need money bc it's what makes this world turn. if it's someone you know then that's different but a random bag that was found, 9 out or 10 people would literally would be looking around seeing if anyone is watching them trying to see if this is a scam or a prank then pick it up.

See if there's an i. d. in it and return it to the owner personally. No i. d. in it? I'd walk around and look for somebody frantically searching for something, then ask them to describe what they are looking for. If none of that panned out, I'd keep the money and use it to fix up my old truck.

Take it to customer service or look around for somebody to see if they drop their wallet close by. Thats not like finding cash on the floor and nobody’s around. Thats a concealed private wallet that should be returned to the owner immediately

If real that’s someone (stupidly) carrying around their life savings most likely. Or their business cash deposits. I’ve found a few honestly in those rubber bags the banks give you. And just called 911 to turn in. I was called later to be thanked profusely by a small business owner.
