Tbh I haven't ever really thought about it. My kids are still very young. Can't see ot being any sort of issue till 10 at least.

As a practical matter, IF the child sleeps with the mother, it should stop as soon as it is apparent that the child can get up at night, if need be, go to the bathroom, etcetera. Probably, the sooner, the better.

Babies are meant to sleep in a bassinet or crib. It's very dangerous for babies to sleep in the bed with the parents since they can roll on the baby and suffocate it

Oh, it's a train wreck waiting to happen. I once briefly dated a woman whose six year old son slept in her bed every night, and when she invited me to spend the night with her, he cried, screamed and shrieked for well over an hour. I never went back.

I mean I would just assume that all children should get their own bed when they’re too big for a crib (the same age at which you fit in the crib would be the same age you would sometimes share a bed with your parents)

They should never be in the same bed, even if it was a girl. They need to learn how to sleep in their own bed or this will cause some major problems for the child as they grow up.
