There was a guy I used to date, and he used to live with his mom even though he was in his 30s. He lost his dad when he was a child. Well, okay, living with mom is somehow acceptable, but what’s worse, they were sharing the same bed! And he thought I was making a big deal out of my reaction. Oh God, do you think this is normal?
I don't even remember ever sleeping in my parents bed as a kid. Technically I wouldn’t care if I was traveling or something and my mom happened to be with me and I needed a hotel room for whatever reason to sleep for the night and there was only one room left with one king sized bed or some strange never likely to occur scenario. I’d just wear my clothes and pass out for the night and then get up in the morning. Technically it’s just a spot to sleep. That said, if he’s living with his mom, it shouldn’t be a big deal to just buy his own bed and sleep in another room.

It's definitely unusual. I wonder if they have a healthy relationship in terms of his openness to a committed romantic relationship with a partner, emotional attachment differences/concerns, and/or even the possibility of sexual activity between them. If those aspects are healthy, I don't think it's necessarily a problem. As his romantic partner, though, I would prefer my man to sleep with me or alone. It would not bother me if it happened once in a while in response to an illness or emotional upset, especially if there are few family members to support each of them.
Nope it's not normal for a grown man to sleep with his mother, regardless of whatever excuses he would use in order to say its ok to sleep with the parent. The only way he can sleep with his mother is only if he was homeless and out on the streets with his mother. There's a physiological wrong in this relationship with the parent.
Were they poor and only had one bed? It's still cringe, but I'm trying to think of anyway it's less cringe. Did he have any severe medical issues that... required... nah... nope I got nothing. That's creepy.

Is it normal? Only for people practicing incest!
Depends on the culture. Back in the day, very far back, families all shared the same bed. Kind of like how cats pile up on top of each other. So it's not really strange to me, yet what culture are we talking about? If you're dating a white man it's pretty odd.
Its very odd. I only know one who was in his 20s that shared a bed with her for a few days because she had surgery and he wanted to be on call near her. But still he shouldve taken the floor or couch.
Oh God no, that's SO messed up, so creepy. That's just too weird. That guy has some serious issues. "... used to date" - Good, you got rid of him.
Depends on purpose. If there is ONLY ONE BED for whatever reason, that might be ok for practical purposes.
If they sleep together when THEY DONT HAVE TO. It is so weird
That is strange as fuck. I can't say I'd be with my partner if I found out they slept with their parents either.
I shared the same bed with my grandma until I was 15 years old and for us it was the most normal thing in the world.
Not if it’s all the time. If they’re traveling and there’s no other option, fine. If they’re just at home, yes that’s a little weird.
Some families are tight nowadays & I wouldn’t doubt it if some 30 year olds share a bed with their moms especially stepmoms.
It’s different if it’s the same house and different bedrooms but same room and same bed! Girl that’s messed up!
That's too graphic to even think about. It makes me sick to my stomach.
I find it quite weird, but nothing wrong with it. If he and his mum have one bed for them both, and none wants to sleep the healthy way on the floor, that’s only natural.
I honestly feel pretty bad to be honest. He must be dealing with some sort of serious psychological trauma he incurred from his youth.
Why else would any man cling to his Mom for protection like that?
What in the Norman Bates? 😬😨 Sounds like they both need therapy.
I’ve never heard of someone sharing a bed with their parents aside from a tiny child that just had a nightmare.
No, now we have a talk show guest.
That is just wrong in every way.Very abnormal, unless they were so poor they only had one bed.
OMG NO WAY! That is just wrong wrong wrong!
That is so wrong on so many levels.
No. That is very weird. Questions are raised.
