HELP what do I do with this child?

My neighbours have to leave to go to a business conference tomorrow. Their babysitter bailed on them last minute so they knocked on my door and asked if I’m free.

I am, so they just gave me their 4 year old daughter to take care of. I told them I have NEVER babysat before, but they just laughed and said “you’ll be fine”.

WHAT DO I DO WITH HER? I have never even interacted with a 4 year old person 😭😭
What do 4 year olds eat?
Can they talk? She’s just sitting here staring at me and won’t speak.
How should I entertain her?
Am I allowed to take her to the playground or will she hurt herself?
Do I need to make her sleep? And how?

Your neighbours are terrible people.
The child will likely be scared. Ask her what her favourite food is, maybe get her to draw it if she does t wany to talk (which she probably can but maybe shy).
Persoanlly I wouldn't take her out for few days let her get familiar with your house. If you have any friends or family with children invite them round for play dates. Have the neighbours left you their house keys? May even be a better idea to stay in their house so she's more comfortable. You sleep on the couch.

Maybe your mom can help you with babysitting... I mean you turned to be ok, right? :D Or do you have sister? Or girl friend who you trust with baby

what awful parents!! i'd never trust someone like that (no offense to you). i'd suggest you call up your mom or any female friend and ask for advice or help.

Haha ugh yeah she’s still here. It’s nighttime where I am and she’s staying until tomorrow evening :/
She’s sleeping right now, I didn’t even have to do anything to get her to do that… She’s quite independent thankfully!
