Do most men naturally prefer having sons?

Question

I guess it makes sense since it's easier to relate to the same gender. My brother always dreamed of having a son, teaching him how to be a confident guy, leadership skills, etc.

He didn't get that. His wife is 5 months pregnant and they're expecting twins. Both are girls. Hopefully he gets over the disappointment of not just one girl instead but 2. Do most men naturally prefer having sons?

I think for men and women both, it's easier (in theory anyway) to raise what you are already. A man can know of periods for example, but it can be a hard thing for him to explain or relate to his daughter. I also think for both men and women, it's about that legacy and wanting to pass on those bits of you into your junior---whether that be a name passed on down through the family, an heirloom, a business like Michael & Sons, whatever the case. You just want that, and when you find out you're getting an opposite gender child, you may think you can't do those things anymore or your child may not want to (which is literally true no matter what the gender is), but most people forget about all that when they see that little baby looking up at them, and realize it just doesn't matter---it's all love.

I think it can often be opposite, men love having a baby girl and women love raising strong sons! At the end of the day a child is a blessing and should be treated as such! I have two sons and a daughter I adore each of them in their own way and look forward to seeing the men and woman they become my boys are my rocks and my daughter is our queen, I only wish my children had a better father figure but I know they’ll grow up with respect for me and everything I overcame in order to give them the best childhood I could and most importantly know that I love them unconditionally male or female!

I didn't care what I was having, as long as it was a health baby. I'm sure most guys do want sons, to carry on the family name in some cultures, and they thing it will be easier to relate to, and play with. But what they don't understand is a daughter melts a dad heart, and will always be his little girl. I won't trade my daughter for anything. Lucky I got my son the 2nd time around, but I would have been ok with 2 daughters.

I think from an evolutionary perspective yes, but I don’t think it matters much these days. Personally I’d just love to have kids someday. They can be challenging, but the joy they bring my friends with kids is incomparable.

REAL men do not care what the gender is.
They care that the child is healthy, is going to be raised properly, surrounded by love and care. More often than not these REAL men want a daughter because it is instinctual for GOOD men to be protective of others & a daughter is such.

INFERIOR men care what the gender is & specifically want a boy.
It's small-dick-symdrome (SDS) and often such men are abusive & demeaning. Statistically they're the assholes parents yelling & screaming at their kids at sports events, etc. to "be men" when the "man" is a 10 year old trying to playing baseball.

Nah I don't think so. My husband thought it was gonna be cool having sons but now after having 4 of them he realized that they are mamas boys and don't want anything to do with him. He's still hoping for a daughter. Wanted one so bad he tried adopting without telling me 😂

Hum... I would like at least one son, so he would bear the same last name as me, which I inherited from my own father. That last name, people already wore it in 1600. It's a symbol, a symbol of the fact my forefathers were already on that soil, a symbol the tree of my family is deeply rooted in history.

As for daughters... if I have any, I'll try my best to raise them.

Father's and sons have a special bond, yes. But that doesn't mean a father loves his daughter any less. Far from it.

Both my father and my mother wanted two daughters. Well, they had luck with the first child, but they got me as the second. But thankfully they didn`t throw me away and loved me still.

No lol I have a daughter and I love my daughter and glad to have her. I would like a son for the experiance of raising a son. But at the same time I don't mind having another girl but I only want two kids so if I get another girl. thats it.

I have always wanted a sister , but never had any. Plus never had a relationship or female friends. So I always thought I would love to have a daughter.

I have too much bad experiences with women though , starting from mother and then some pretentious who took advantage.

Now I don't want kids , male or female. O don't even know if I ever will get love. I have never known how it's like to be loved ever. Kids require love , I am afraid I will fail to give it to them.

One of my friends wanted a son and his wife had 3 girls in a row. So they finally gave up. All three are married now. He loves the girls but I think he always felt something was missing.

It really was not important to me. We did not know what the gender of any of our kids were until they were born. I was thrilled either way.
