Trending & News are you talking about america?
regardless, i still don't think college is a bad idea. it's a very nice fall back plan as long as you get a degree in something actually useful.
if you just work with no education, will you ever be able to get a meaningful increase of wages throughout the years? some jobs do tap out at a max salary after so many years. keep that in mind. then it will just be extremely small raises for "cost of living" which you are not guaranteed to get.
if you are really against college or taking just core classes until you find out what you want to do in life, then i guess just take a gap year off. work at some place, ask the people around you if they regret not going to college, etc.
i get the whole student loan thing and feeling like degrees are worthless, but honestly it's not. i see a lot of older people go back to school because they can no longer progress in life so they decide to do better for themselves and get an education in order to get more of a salary.
I'm not talking about America, believe me, things are not easy where I am and I never said I wouldn't go to university. After working for a few years, I want to study at a university in America or England.
go for it!
Did you say this to motivate me?
yes i did
If you think take taking the risk to go straight to business life go for it. You don't always need a degree but you need to have a great plan on how to achieve what you want in life.
Unless you’re going to professional or trade school, university is as much about the socialization, relationships and network you’ll need going into business, than anything in particular you learn. Having said that, I love school, and the energy of being on campus. What kind of business are you interested in?
I am interested in the maritime industry or e-commerce
For maritime you could probably start working and look for educational opportunities that will help you from mentors within the industry. For e-commerce, go to school and study business, at least until you find the opportunity and the people to make it pop and justify leaving/pulling out of school to pursue.
Business is better
My friends who went to university are heavily in debt and working in fields far from their studies
My business friends are debt free and do what they love be it renting exotic cars or renovating properties or running plenty of other ventures
