It's generally much easier to express honest feelings when we feel safe to do so. Unfortunately, it is common for people to criticize anything that differs from what they believe or feel. As long as people feel entitled to judge others or tell them what they should or shouldn't feel or do, it makes no sense to believe their actions will encourage others to be open and honest with their feelings. If you want clear, concise, open, honest sharing, prioritize making sure the other person consistently feels safe. You have nothing to gain by putting the other person on the defensive.
@Wifeymaterialll You're welcome. Though it may be harder, nowadays, to find people who are truly considerate of others, as you've discovered, they are out there. I'm glad you found a safe place to build your foundation and grow. It used to be more common to find those who would take you under their wing and mentor you. It's unfortunate more people don't experience that safe place with caring people.
I usually vet people first to see if they're the judgmental type... after that yeah i can easily express my feelings.
@Wifeymaterialll i observe and just through conversation. you really need to fine tune your ear for this kind of thing. but i can usually tell right away usually what type of person they are.
@Wifeymaterialll developed
@Wifeymaterialll huh? no. i said its through conversation
On a deep level, yeah. It’s been getting tougher the more you experience relationships/friendships that knock you down. Journaling helped me express my emotions and rationalize/organize thoughts. And therapy is helping me to heal so I can eventually express my emotions to someone I’ll truly trust.
Sometimes. I have an anxiety disorder and am neurodiverse, so sometimes it can be hard to find words to express how I feel. Because I don't want to worry, upset, etc. the person I'm talking to even though I know that is out of my control.
You don’t have to do that out of fear. I do it intentionally because I find my measured responses resonate better with people. It’s a sign of intelligence that you recognize how others react is ultimately outside your control AND you don’t want them to feel bad.

Yeah. But girls don't want a "whiny crybaby", so...
What is going on in that picture? That wolf with antlers sitting like a human with a hyperextended leg staring off at what looks like the Great Flood.
i always have to be sneaky or underhanded when expressing them
Most of the time it's easy, but it depends on who I am speaking with, how receptive they are, and how compatible our communication styles are.
Yes, it is very easy for me to show my feelings, as well as it is very hard for me to hide them
Fortunately I've never had any problems whatsoever.
not really, i'm emotionally repressed, my family never really talked about our feelings when i was growing up, it's easier to express emotions like anger compared to actually opening up about sadness
I do.
But my surrounding sometimes has 'problems' with (or through) that :D
Yeah, I don't understand how anyone can find it difficult when its instinctual.
No, unless it is about my opinion that "feelings" are a horrible basis for a long term relationship.
Yeah, I don't have much if a filter and shit my mouth off regularly
Yes, but I think I express *too much*. It makes people uncomfortable.
Easy around people I trust.
WHEN WRITING YES
