Our relationship was a struggle for many years. But after a few times of me cutting contact over the years, and after I became chronically ill and he saw me in & out of hospital, he changed and pulled his head out of his arse, so to speak. For the last 4 or 5 years our relationship has been great. I spend a day with him once a month and we never butt heads anymore. I love my dad.
Very touching you could get along finally

I'm papi's princess and my papá is my hero as I am his and his pride and joy!
Aww sweet
My father is so important to me I choose to have him with me when I went into labor with my daughter. I went into labor on a Thursday night almost a Friday early morning and I didn't have have until a Monday morning... He stayed by me the entire time!
Thats a good dad right there
Growing up I was a major daddy's girl. My dad was usually there for me growing up.
Unfortunately come junior high school, my abusive, neglectful, narcissistic, BPD stay at home mother (who is SHM because she can't/doesn't want to work for more than 6 months) kind of wore him out. He stopped fighting her and started just giving her whatever she wanted and let her turn her demands onto me.
In my 30s, I finally went No Contact with her after she kicked my cat. This made my relationship with my father strained and now we only speak at karate.
I wish I could have a good relationship with my dad. If my mother dies a few decades before he does, I'll have that relationship. If not, I'll be sad but I already grieved the loss of the father I really wished I had.
He gave me his car because i burned mine up. Getting a car of my own would leave me in my hometown with not enough money, probably still no job right now. (10/31/23. Car died in June.) So imagine that...5 months, no car, no money. So everytime I hear that car start up, i'm funkin grateful for hiim to be alive just... just a little bit longer for me to thank him.
Unfortunately, mine divorced my mother when I was six and created a new family, so I wasn't really needed anymore. I dealt with it for years but finally, I'm over it. We contact a few times per year for a short phone call.
We talk from time to time, we aren't close. He was never like a real father to me, he never cared about me or my sister. He just likes to pretend that he's a great father in front of his coworkers and acquaintances.
He always tried to be there but i simply never wanted him around. No reason why. Just no interest in building with him
I love my dad a lot. He is an amazing father and I am lucky to have him.
For me it was a very special relationship. I was very close to my father because I was very much like him and we understood each other.
My dad doesn't speak or care about me. He is spending all his time, energy, and money on his new family since I was in my teens
The best i would say... even better than the one i had with my mum... he has been my bestie n has always been there for me... i could always share my everything no matter how tiny how big how personal or how stupid it was
We're chill. He's actually the closest parent I have now.
I'm close to my dad.
I'm definitely "daddy's girl!"
I absolutely love my dad. I'm a daddy's girl.
I was a daddy’s girl for sure. My dad never told me no.
