+1 yWell my father passed away, and I held his hand in the hospital when he did. I would say my relationship with my father was very good, we didn't see eye-to-eye on everything like what hobbies we enjoy and what we were good at. He was incredibly mechanically inclined, and my brother took after him more in that aspect, but he still made the effort to allow me my own space to be an individual and enjoy things that I like even if he doesn't really understand them, like dungeons and dragons.
He was always patient, understanding, kind, and he made God only knows how many sacrifices to give my brother and I the best life he could. I would have liked to spend more time with him, but when someone is the main breadwinner of a family it comes with the cost of being able to have a house to live in, and as an adult a car to drive, and food when times were lean, he always did his best to make sure that we had what we really needed.
Later in my life when he became less physically able, I was more than glad to step up and help him pay the bills, get the projects taken care of, and do full home care for him near the end. I can only carry his memory with me, now that he is gone, and use it as an example of how I can always strive to be better for the people around me and for myself.
In many ways my father was my hero and my idol, if I could be half as good a man as he was I would be a great one20 Reply

+1 yHated my old man when I was a kid because he was a hard ass and always seemed disappointed in m and I was sure he hated me.
It didn't get better until I was in college and got off ok my own. I can respect and appreciate what he did because it was his way to make me a stronger man and how to be ready for the world when I am out on my own. He was a coach for sports, taught me many things like house work, fitness, finances, etc. Turns out he is the true softy despite having a short temper.

we’re super close and have a very teasing kind of relationship! i tease him about the clothes he wears, he teases me about my celebrity crushes and calls me emo, we call each other assholes and i’m the only one who’s allowed to mess up his hair, haha.

+1 yMy father and I had a very good relationship. Taught me things, we did things together, he was always there for me. He passed away several years ago.

You’re very lucky. My father remarried and had a whole other family. It’s weird, because I’m his “other” kid from his first marriage. He had another kid. She grew up in a stable home. She’s ten years younger than me and three times as successful.
I’m happy for my Dad, that he got a second chance and went on to have a happy family, even grandkids. He’s great with them. But I got left behind. I visit but it’s always awkward. I’m kin but in always a stranger. Was homeless when I was younger. Had a lot of violence growing up, living in crime ridden areas. Burglaries. Assaults. Even ended up going into the military to war, like lots of others who didn’t have any thing else going for them.
As a man, older now, I really see what a difference it would have made in my life to have two parents. All he’d ever do is mail me some money every now and then and act like I was weird or some loser because I didn’t have a girlfriend yet.
He’s still alive and I still visit. And it’s still awkward. I have no relationship with my sibling and she seems completely uninterested in me. I tried with her over the years, but I think when Dad passes she’ll probably never speak to me again.
Oh well. Ain’t divorce grand.

+1 yGreat!! Couldn't be better!! Haven't had a problem with him in 17 years, ever since he's been dead.
Most of my life, he was a major pain in the ass!! No matter how hard I tried, I just could NOT please him!! Then, one day, in 1989, after a very nasty bout, I decided to write down the lyrics to a brand new XTC song in my own handwriting and leave them on the kitchen table as if I'd written it myself and went to bed forgetting to take it with me. He got up the next day, read the lyrics and I hadn't had a problem with him, since!! From then on, the only times he'd get pissed at me is if we were playing cards and I made a dumb play.20 Reply 7.2K opinions shared on Relationships topic. My father has been dead for several years. We were on the outs for a while after he divorced my mother but eventually I forgsve him. He was about to retire and I had some stuff planned that we would do together and he died before we had the chance.

+1 yHe's dead. While he was alive he tried to spend as little time with his family as he could and at one point admitted he never wanted children. He also suffered from mild mental illness.

@DancingQueen16 Someday, when you are a parent, you will understand, and appreciate, why fathers are so protective of their children, especially a daughter
My father relationship is good but sometimes I not like behaviors have then I'm setting a limit remember, as long as you set limits, you'll be fine

Anonymous(45 Plus)+1 ynone.. how's it with yours? do you wish he shoved his big cock inside your wet pussy and fucked you hard? you wish you could show your tits off to your daddy and have him squeeze them and admire them and suck on your nipples and rub your clit while he fucks your pussy?
10 ReplyI cherish some memories with him. Some moments. They succeeded in teaching me right from wrong somehow, because it surprises me how people around my age can do something really stupid and think to themselves that they made the right choice.
