Deep down. What is the Real Reason You want to have kids.
484 opinions shared on Family & Friends topic. Becoming a Mommy was something I wanted to do at a very young age. I'd say 3 or 4 years old. I loved my baby dolls. I loved my Thumbalena dolly because she felt so real. I loved to take good care of all my Dolly's like they were my real babies.
Then when mom let me have kitty cats, the process repeated. I dressed them in my doll's clothes, wrapped them in infant baby blankets, put them in my doll's stroller and would take them for walks on my street. They never tried to run away either. In fact, they took a nap while I pushed the stroller.
Fast forward to age 24 when my long lived dream came and I gave birth to a real baby, my son. I was ready to be a Mom. I am an older woman and I still can say I was an excellent Mom and am proud of myself for making it as a single mom.
He's 45 now, but it seems like not so long ago that he was 3 years old in his little pajamas with the feet in them!

+1 yIt's an interesting survey that's 30% right now are saying they want somebody by their side when they are old.
This is uncommon in Anglo countries.
Stemming from British ideology a lot of Anglo countries the minute children are capable of looking out after themselves - get a job, etc - they are tossed out the door at 18 even 16. And by extension they have little to do with senior parents.
Whereas amongst Mediterranean cultures, Asian cultures, middle eastern cultures and Arabic cultures it is typical for children to still be involved in their senior parents' lifestyles.
Not Anglos
So what's an interesting concept that's 30% of you want kids to be around you in your old age, are you around your parents in their old age?

Yes, madam, what you say is very true, the child should have his own life, but in the Balkans, in some countries, what you say is very true.
+1 yI like to give back. To help kids grow up and become happy and successful. There’s just nothing more important and fulfilling than being instrumental and supportive and sharing this world and all it’s beauty with the next generation. And teaching others helps you grow in ways unfathomable. In ways you can achieve in any other way.

+1 yAs far as I’m concerned a well raised child is the best retirement investment
I’m not talking about expecting them to
im talking about setting them up for success so they can afford to help me if I need it when I’m no longer able to work

Anonymous(45 Plus)+1 yto not be lonely if i'm ever i'm middle aged and old, to not feel/be left out when everyone else my age has kids, to have more people that care about me, for the fun of raising your own little humans and making them kinda how i want them to be, relive my childhood and my youth through them, life through them, have fun training them to succeed in life and make them the envy of all the moms around, try to make them live a dream life, cuteness for years then having beauty & youth around when everyone my age would be shriveled up, and probably that my future husband will most likely want them so

+1 yI want kids because I've always dreamed of having children. I believe that if it's meant for me to have kids like if I am physically able to have them, then I should have them. As far as I know I am not infertile so as soon as I marry, I would like to start having kids with my husband especially given my age.

Anonymous(25-29)+1 yI DONT WANT TO HAVE KIDS.
I didn’t want them at the age of 18- 20- I’m now 25. I still don’t want them. At 30 I will still not want them. At 35 I will still not want them.
Its an expense and a headache that I don’t wish on my worst enemy.
Right now my sister had a baby and she lives with us. So I’m basically already having the mother experience , even though I didn’t have to poop anyone out of myself and ruin my body doing so. 🫵😆
My sister now has to change diapers and deal with a brat for life, while having a loose mommy p—ssy. And I don’t 🫵😆.

+1 yBecause its natural, and i love it. It is scary but definitely worth it. I wouldn't be here if my mom didn't have me and so as all of us. Having kids is a blessing and the idea of having someone of my own being and raising them is amazing.

I want someone to pray for me after I die.
Sometimes I feel I will end up in this life alone and never have kids.

+1 yto share the joys in life that I have to share and give them a good family.
that's a reason I'd adopt... some kids need that and would benefit.
I haven't because of fear of the unknown, effort, age.
10 Reply I would want to test myself, as to what kind of parent I could be and try to bring up responsible, children that could take care of themselves as a young adult and a mature adult

10 ReplyTo give them love and happiness similar to that I received from my family when I was a child. To watch how they grow. To spend time with them and show them the world.

I agree you'd be a great mom
I'm not sure. But I want to create "super people", clever and therefore strong in anyway. Starting with my close ones. I try to lighten up ideas and ways to think. no joke.
