My dad is so American, we’re in japan and he absolutely refuses to learn the language and adjust to the culture. Ironically tho he’s from a Chinese family, full chinese! So he should be a little Asian even tho he was born in the U. S! It’s ridiculous! I’m more Asian than he is, both ethnicity-wise and Spiritually

What does being "Asian" mean. That's racist nonsense. Japanese people are distinct and unique people from Chinese and both have different subcultures that are vastly different.

Maybe your father doesn't feel connected to Japan. You do know Japan committed horrible atrocities against China in the not so distant past. Maybe stop judging other people and stop failing to realize people just don't fit into collective groups.

@A_Bell I’m part Japanese, from my mother’s side. He’s just so American, he doesn’t even try to adjust to the country’s culture. Like try to learn the language, he expects them to know/speak English! It’s just ridiculous! I actually try.

Most Americans barely know their own country, let alone other cultures in the world, so it comes as no surprise. Americans tend to live in a bubble... and I live there for most of my life, so I know.

I’m Asian, I have more Asian in me than him, i was also born in the U. S obviously. I at least care enough to try to acclimate to the country while on a trip there

More Asian spiritually i mean, he’s too @jahaims American to even try to adjust to japan”s language or culture. He just criticizes them for not knowing English and I’m like “Duh we’re in japan why would they know fluent English and speak it, this ain’t the U. S”
