My cousin seems to have the idea that texting 24/7 is ok what should I do?

She lives in North America and I live in the UK she will easily text throughout the day if she could I’m trying to make my responses slower and slower. If I don’t text her a lot she always thinks something is wrong which annoys me as I just want her to stop texting all throughout the week and everyday. I sometimes feel anxious at times having to respond. Yesterday I gave her a quick text before I went out a walk and she tried FaceTiming me but if I answered the call she would start calling too much as well. She’s in her mid 40s doesn’t she have stuff to do and how does she manage to text while at work

Sometimes you have to lay boundaries and if they don’t stop. You may just have to block the number. I’ve had some people like this too.


If she needs to contact you she can through social media and a emergency she can have someone else text or call.




But you just have to tell her…. Not to text you at certain times. You think people have common sense and would know this. Unfortunately some people have POOR boundaries

My day has long started before hers I can’t just text at work and I don’t have a car so I don’t text while waking a good portion of my day is outside

Asker, she doesn’t have to text every waking moment. I’m glad she loves you. But you just gotta tell her to stop. Be polite about it at first.

Why do you keep asking this. We cannot answer why she is doing this. You on the other hand can use your mouth and your words to tell her to stop.

I know but you get texts like “are you having problems with your boyfriend?” “Is there something going on?” But there is nothing going wrong I just don’t want to text 24/7

I haven’t texted since Sunday but she’s still sending pointless texts I feel like if I send texts again I’m back to square one. She’s the only family member that does it everyone texts at a healthy amount
