How well do you get along with your parents?

I'm very close to my mom but me and my dad share a bittersweet relation. How about you guys?

we get along very well... with both, as they're usually together

and I do see them often enough to keep in touch and remain close... could meet with them at least twice a month... since they live near enough a driving distance

My dad was my best friend. He died at 56 in 1999 and it's a major hole in my life.

My mum and I weren't as close but since dad died she's been trying to get to know me instead of just knowing about me. It's not been easy and the last couple of years since she's started to develop dementia have been hard work. She's into her 80s and needs a carer now. I'm glad we'd started to develop a better relationship before her decline began.

kinds distant but cordial with my dad. i didn't meet him until i was 19. we visited together occasionally and talked about every month. he passed 5 years ago.

my mom, she became my best friend for years and years. she's old now. dementia. doesn't recognize anyone. my oldest sister takes care of her. but we spoke weekly for decades. she was a good friend and counselor. i already miss her.

That’s a long story. Long story short my mom cheated. They divorced and are both with someone at least 15 years younger then them. One is married the others living with.

I get along with them better then I did. Things were really weird the last few years of their marriage

My mum passed away unexpectedly. My dad and I, we have had a rocky relationship for the past year and a half. I am at the point where once I find a place of my own, I will be cutting all contact with him.
