Why are many gifted kids more hyperactive then most kids?

In movies and on TV. Smart children are depicted as overly serious and basically have no childhood outside of academies. While this may be true for some no child is the same.

A lot of them had a lot more energy then even some od the other kids. Had a very well developed sense of humor and honestly many were still kids at heart.

I have noticed there are some kids. That maybe has a higher then average intelligence or even a average one. But thier parents basically gave them no life outside of academic work and some of them were more serious then the other children.

Because they're smarter. As intelligence rises, there comes a point where you realize that being limited to the speed of the slowest of your group is holding you back. You might think this would push them towards Nietzsche or even Rand, but they're usually too smart for the latter and too upbeat for the former.

So if they can find ways to occupy their powerful minds and stave off boredom, they're often outwardly calm (but rarely of the obedient, I-have-no-life-but-homework type that Hollywood loves; THAT mindset comes from abusive parents, not intelligence); if not, they'll act out in some way, whether it's behaving disruptively, becoming a class clown, simply checking out, or some other option.

Talent wants to be used, and anyone who'd contentedly sit in silence and listen to a forty-minute explanation of a thirty-second process while there are wildflowers to be picked and circles to be spun in has forgotten what it means to be a child.

That’s true there are some like Young Sheldon but many times that’s because of the parents.

They are different in many ways. I work with them and see their different levels of development, social skills, family and environment influences.
those who are very smart… can be due to boredom so they “act out”. They are kids but with a lot more sense of awareness.
