I was awkward in HS and once had an argument with my then crush. Honestly, I don't remember what exactly started the argument but he used to be a jerk too. I was then 14 and he was nearly 16.
This is how the argument from that time ended like:
(Him in a mocking tone, sarcasm): Well I was going to ask you out, lol.
(Angered and hurt by then): Sure I would go out with you... IN YOUR DREAMS LOL.
Many years passed already and most of us have matured since. I've always been friends with his sister, whom is my same age and I had two classes with her in school. We've been FB friends for the longest. He underwent a divorce and I've gone through 3 break-ups. Lately he's been showing up in my dreams. In my dreams, we're back to being teens again and I'm hanging out with both of them.
What does this mean? I was 14 when I told him that reply. And now years later, I've been lately dreaming of him. Why?

Subconscious picking on something unresolved
Probably. I literally insulted with that remark when I was 14. I'm now 29 and obviously a lot mature and so is he. We just never mentioned about that incident though.
That's the ironic isn't it? I told him that and bang, now he appears in my dreams lately.
Ask him out?

I must admit I've always liked him. I was just hurt at that time because he was acting like a jerk, that ''In your dreams'' from back then was a defense mechanism. Wow... we were totally immature teens back then.
