Have any of you had a “neighbor from hell”? Do any of you watch that show, “Fear Thy Neighbor”?

I was DMing with an old neighbor of mine this morning and realized I’ve been fortunate when it’s come to having good neighbors, because it seems few things in this world are worse than having neighbors you grow to hate! The one exception might be coworkers. At times, things can turn violent and even deadly. Have any of you had or know of family or friends that have had bad experiences with a neighbor? I pray I never experience what I’ve seen on that show, “Fear Thy Neighbor”!

let's say I've had "questionable" neighbors but not hellish, lol... in part, I grew up at a very crowded street with lots of neighbors and the vast majority got very well, even though many had differences with one another, there was peace enough most of the time...

any new neighbor (rents were very common) that would come and bring any drama or crazy ways would not last long, lmao...

and let's also say that sometimes we've hand some of those neighbors that nobody should mess with and we didn't... but they didn't mess up with anyone else either, they usually keep a very low profile, lol

When I first moved to WI, I lived in Milwaukee for four months to finish my schooling and certification at their Medical College. Froehdert hospital paid for my apartment and it happened to be in a section of the city that was basically owned by the “Belastri” family, I’m sure the spelling is wrong but yeah, two blocks away there was a gang war going on but I felt safe walking to a convenience store at nine, ten O’clock at night. My neighbors were very nice but definitely kept to themselves.

I sure know what you mean... lol, sometimes you do get that feeling in the area in which mayhem could happen at any moment but also... as long as you don't get involved directly, you're "safe"

I had a neighbor scream at me because I would feed the birds! She said, “when they’re done eating, they take naps on my fence and shit all over it”! She would spend half the day scaring them away from my feeders. Eventually I told her to “fuck off”! Then her husband came over with a bottle of Captain Morgan and told me to ignore her. Him and I ended up getting pretty drunk! She never said another word to me after that. I mean, like she wouldn’t even look in my direction! I’m thinking he beat the shit out of her and told her to mind her own business.

Oh Waldo, that’s funny! I have two older women as neighbors, they also love feeding birds and will sit by their window all day watching them.

Not really from hell, just annoying ones. One where I’m living now complains about me on his property cutting his untended grass that harbors critters and insects which we want to control.

Who complains about free grass cutting that’s higher quality than what you’d do if you don’t do it yourself anyway?

He was so anal about it, he staked the property line, “drawing a line in the sand”. So I stopped cutting around the stakes. And, as one would NEVER expect, the grass grew so high around the stakes it hid them so when he did decide to cut, he ran them over. SMH.

That show I watch called Fear Thy Neighbor, is about neighbors disputes turning deadly and I would say over 70% of the disputes are over property. It’s usually new people that move into the neighborhood and their neighbors that have lived there for years and are set in their ways, almost immediately have a problem and it’s usually about property. “You have your fence in my yard”, “your dogs are crapping in my yard”. In one episode, a guy shot his neighbor because he chopped down an apple tree that was on his property! But his neighbor said it was his tree, even after it was surveyed. He claimed the city was trying to screw him. I know, I’m weird for watching shows like that but it’s really good! Very suspenseful. It’s like watching a really good horror movie but yes, it is very sad when you realize it’s real life and people were killed and lives destroyed. Okay, I’m done! 😂

Speaking of dog crap. My Dad would fling our dog’s shit into our neighbor’s yard because he complained about our dog barking during the day. I think he worked night shift. This guy had a pack of dogs, one was blind and deaf that would run into just about everything trying to run with the others. He used to call and hang up the phone in the middle of the night. My Dad called the cops on him and put an end to all of that.

But my Dad literally flinging shit over the neighbors fence was funny.

I had a neighbor in an apartment building who worked nights and his dog would bark all the time he was away.

That’s the WORST! I had a friend that went through that. When her neighbor would leave, the dog would bark and scratch at the door for hours! They told the neighbor that she is going to have to do something about it. The next day, she knocked on their door and said she bought a shock collar! When she left that night, she gave my friend the controller for the collar and said, “when he barks, shock him”. My friend said no, that she wasn’t gonna do it. My friend eventually called the landlord. Turned out, she wasn’t allowed to have a dog! She ended up getting evicted.

I also loved the drunk girlfriend pounding on his door at 6 AM Saturday morning.

Yes we did. He had a German Shepherd named Oden dog from hell. The whole neighborhood hated this neighbor😡

They hated me for reasons ranging from feeding innocent stary dogs to going out for a jog at 3pm..
