Those who prefer to have children of the opposite gender, why?

Sometimes I'll hear women say they prefer to have a son/all boys, and vice versa with men who prefer to have a daughter/all girls. I don't think there's anything wrong with it, but I'm wondering the reason why it would benefit you, and how you would feel about having a child the same gender as you.

I haven't had a lot of feminine energy in my life consistently, so I've always liked the idea of a daughter. There are actually studies that show men that have daughters live longer than men that have sons. I don't think I prefer either though. There are benefits to having a daughter and with a son, I could always do a lot more physical stuff with him and I'd be able to relate more to him. So there are bonuses. So there are good things about both.

As a man, and an only child, if i wanted kids (which i don't), i would NEED to have at least a boy. But, if i did have children, it would be kind of cool to have a girl too, that way at least my (if i ever marry, which i also don't want), wife, would have her daughter (ya know, cause it's just easier for women to understand girls better, just as it is for a man to understand boys better)

I don’t prefer boys over girls or girls over boys. I’d be happy with both.

But I always dreamed about having three sons and one daughter or two sons and two daughters.

Because boys just have more energy and are more fun to be around so I like having all sons
