Why do more people of both genders have desires to have kids?

Childfree individuals of both genders are still in the minority in comparing to people of both genders that want kids.

I once check the % rate of the genders that have desires to reproduce vs those that always wanted to be childfree. Yes more of us want kids vs women that never desire kids. About 90-95% of women want kids. I tried then checking for guys (I thought it would be 50/50 for them) and an overwhelming 80% of men still want kids vs just 20% who never want.

In my family, only my uncle's brother never wanted kids and no childless female. The rest are with children or want kids in the future. Why do more people of both genders want kids vs those that want to be childfree?

Basic natural selection. A species that doesn't want to reproduce is less likely to. Nor are many of them so callous as to describe children the way you would a disease.

Pretty much because nature does not promote anything that is not practical.

If the majority would not want to reproduce, we would die as a species.
