Why are people so afraid of aging?

Literally most people over the age of 34 are uncomfortable with me asking them about their age. From my experience, this goes for both men and women. Even people on here hate being told that they are no longer in their physical prime.

But reality is , there is no advantage of being young except for looks. When you're young, you're not confident, you're usually broke so you can't afford to do the things you want, you're dating the wrong people because you aren't sure of what to look for, you don't have a damn clue how to impress the opposite gender. Most young folks are single and worried about their futures because life is so full of uncertainty. You're probably stressed at work, trying to climb the corporate ladder or prove to your boss that you actually know something. You probably are busy on weekends because you have to go to graduate school. You might still be living with your parents and they can be annoying as hell.

When you're older, you're financially well off so you can go on vacation, see broadway shows, buy whatever your heart desires. You're at a great point in your career so you don't have the pressure to prove yourself at work, like you used to. You're finished with all your studies so you're free on weekends. You have charisma and you now have learned through years of experience what impresses a man or how to talk to men. You have a good idea of what you need in a guy for a successful relationship.

Overall, life is better when you get older. I don't understand why so many older folks have such a huge problem with aging. As if aging is a terrible thing. Think about what all you have to gain rather than the few things you lose.
Are your looks the most important thing to you in life?
