Why is my sister so nasty to me? How she talks to me in her abrupt rude tone of voice?

Basically I set up movie night, make a night of it for snacks, pizza etc.. with my sister and Dad.

Then while the movie is on my sisters phone goes off in this loud notification and I say for her to put her phone on silent.. and she goes in the most abrupt rudest abusive tone of voice "shut up!"

I don't know if I'm being too sensitive but it made me upset when she left like how she spoke to me. Is that normal? Maybe I need help, I feel like that's a small thing to cry over but it's the fact that I invited her to make a night of watching a movie and eating snacks and she tells me off.

I have to see her tomorrow and I can't be bothered. Advice?

i'd just stop hanging out with her. she doesn't seem too fun to be around

you're completely valid to be upset over this. not sure why she lashed out at such a simple little thing. maybe she expected the text to be from someone special but it wasn't so she got upset and then got mad at you so she can get some of her anger out
