Why young girls now a days want to shop at sephora and not enjoy being a kid?

People my own age millenial moms are hoing to hate my question. But honestly I don't think a young girl should hebwearing make up. I was babysitting for my sister , I asked my 9 year old neice if she wanted to stop by the local Towns Toy store her answer is no she requested we stop by Sephora I ask heroh you want to get your mom a gift was my first tough her answer was no that she wanted dunk elephant something make up for her self. I was surprised I explained to her that she is way to young to be wearing make up and that we should consider other more kid friendly choices instead but still she insistedbI take her to sephora. I mean seriously since when kids want to shop at Sephora shebtold me how my sister would actually take her and buy her make up. I told her lets try claires my niece answer in her baby vouce no claires is for babies I want sephora make up claires isnall fake. I didn't takenher anywhere at the end. I am seriously shocked what is happening in the world. My grandmother didn't allowed us to wear make up. When in earth moms bow a days want thier kidsnto grow up so quick. And what is dunk elephant exactly?

There's a definite advantage to being a dad a) of a boy and b) of 51 so I'm Gen-X.

My wife told me this morning she thought I was going to be the softy parent and she's actually a bit scared herself when I'm in full "Dad" mode!

My son does have an Amazon tablet but he has to use my YouTube channel, Netflix account and Amazon Prime account so I can see exactly what he's watching. We're fairly relaxed about what he can watch so he learns to be responsible for his actions - if he tries to watch something inappropriate he loses his tablet for 24 hours. No second chance.

He has pocket money, but there's certain toy ranges - "Among Us" and "Huggy-Wuggy" for example - that he's not old enough for. It's his money and he can spend it on his choice, but what comes into our house is up to us. He's never even tried to buy something inappropriate and I couldn't be more proud of him.

It's more about the parents than the kids. All his friends at school are pretty much the same as him in their behaviour - thankfully. His one "friend" who was a terrorist in a child's body and smashed out TV when he visited had a parent of 22 at age 6. Zero control. No apology for the damage or offer to pay for repairs. Child no longer welcome. He pulled similar shit at several other homes with the same parenting response from his mother. He's now banned from all the houses my son's friends live at to the point they're moving where he's not known.

Like I said, it's about the parents, not the child. Kids need boundaries and they push until they find it. They can't set them themselves so parents need to. Shopping at adult makeup stores aged 9 shouldn't be a difficult line to set. Kids don't need to spend hundreds of dollars on makeup.

I agree with you and yes you do have good points. I am very stric about what my kids watch I only allowed christian cartoons , VeggieTales. Ny hisband abd I we only allowed christian people into our home and we only allowed our kids to play with christian kids. This one of the reason wh y homeschool is a good choice the parets know what is going on. Huggy Wuggu is demonic I would never allowed my kidsto watch that trash. Have you see Cocomelon and blues clues they went all woke which is disgusting satan wants to control our kids. That is horrible that kid destroyed the TV at he should have been responsible and perchased a new TV. This is the reason why it is so important forbparents to raised the child into a christian environment. I bet that 22 year old with a 6 year old must have been a catholic for sure sounds like most typical catholic behavior. Make up is bad as it is it promotes Jezabel. This why I plan to do homeschool or christian school. Have you seen all that trans woke trash public schools want to teach and indoctrinate our children?

My son needs to be able to understand making a choice. School is tricky - South Africa is making certain elements "compulsory" subjects, including "gender studies" for homeschool kids as well as curriculum children. I'm British - which doesn't help much - so moving country is an option, but the curriculum there is as bad.

As far as the TV goes I'm more pissed with the parents than the child.

Makeup is an inanimate object, no more demonic than a pen or a computer. What you give it place to is what makes it a force for good or evil. A knife in the hand of a psychopath can kill but the same knife in a surgeon's hands can heal. Again, it's how the tool is used, not the tool itself.

Be wary of overly religious "christian" environments. They can be as bad as overtly secular schools. I was looking at a school for my son last week and rejected it because "biblical studies" is compulsory from age 5 to 18. Now I want my son to grow into a strong Christian man. I'm 4th generation Born Again and I'd like to carry it on. It has to be his choice though, not from being beaten with scripture until it crushes him.

You are a good parent thisnworld would be a better if people parent their kids the way you do. I really like how you mentioned you want your son to grow into a christian men. You do have good points about not forcing him I hear from oler parets My kids I only on Friday no school night 1 hour of movie. I got them a dvd portable I know what they are watching. My sister went off on me for making her child put her phone on the counter while she visits I don't want my kids to have access to social media.

Not sure. My mom never allowed me to wear makeup until I was 13-15 years. old. Best I ever wanted was nail polish, lip gloss, and lip balm. But when I was a child, I'd go over to my friend's house so we could do makeovers (mainly nails). 💅
