What do you do when your coworker you were friends with - leaves?

My friend and I had so much fun at work, we chatted a lot, laughed, played, raced, went to cafes together, we went to stroll around in the city and occasionally went out to play some outdoors sports with his other friends. He sent me the memes at work and we both laughed till crying. Everybody looked at us surprised.

I even broke my leg while racing with him.

He leaves soon. And It’s probably my last time to see him today. I am at work, we laughed a LOT today, he accompanied me to go up and down stairs just in case, and brought me cup of tea and tacos.

He’s leaving very soon and I feel like I will miss our friendship.

I feel a little bit sad.

... I seen you write about being injured, but I didn't know what happened and was curious about it.

Considered dming you, asking what's up.

First I thought that if he change jobs you could still hang out in freetime if you both still lived in the same city or nearby cities.
But then I saw you write to someone that you'd be in different countries after he moves.
So I guess it's just keeping in contact online then. Maybe meet up sometime in the future.

He’s fiancée was always jealous of me and now he’s going back to Britain and then moving to his fiancée in Netherlands, so I feel like our friendship will not continue…

I get over things fairly quickly, I'd get over it within a day so I'd just continue on as nothing happened.

You seem to be fairly easy to get along with so I'm sure you'll just find another coworker you'll enjoy time with.

From your questions and replies you seem to be quite the positive person and friendly. I've never seen write anything bad/negative on here. It's hard not getting along with someone like that.
You'll be fine, it'll suck in the beginning.. sort of like when that one series you've been watching for a while ends.. you'll feel like there's a void in your life but life goes on and you'll have another buddy fill that void in no time!

Unfortunately, you will have more of these experiences. There are people who come in to our lives for a fairly short period of time, we have good interactions with them, perhaps they help us with something, or we help them, and then they are gone. . . perhaps to make room for someone new in our lives. Yes, it is bittersweet, and recognizing this has helped me to more fully appreciate my friends while I do have them.

Two years ago, a good friend coworker left, and moved to another city. I took him out to lunch, we talked about where he is going, and exchanged personal emails. We still occasionally exchange texts, and have talked a few times. When he came back to close on selling his house, we had coffee together.

Having a friend colleague leave is not the end of the world. Feel happy for them.
