Controlling and toxic parent, any advice?

I am 17 and my home life is toxic.

I am trying to take control of my life but its not easy when my legal guardian makes it impossible. I would like to live with a friend but she refuses to let me leave. what can I do?

If you are in Texas she can’t stop you 17 is legally an adult but she definitely can’t stop you when you turn 18

Well, the best you can do is to wait till' you're 18.

Bide your time until you are 18. Then just walk away. No explanation. No going back.

thats the approach I was going to take but now she is trying to pull me away from the people I love.

She cannot keep you prisoner. Tell her straight you WILL leave as soon as you can.

I have done that and she made my life hell.

she won't let me get a job either. the thing is I am trying to leave before this summer. I dont turn 18 till the end of December
