Advice on parents behavior?

My mother has been caught cheating and she's been living on her phone ever since and we brought up the fact that she's been switching her phone off and still hiding things after she said she'd stop and she threatened to take everyone off the road and she's been getting violent she hit my dad and made it a joke and because we didn't laugh she made it about her and said we are making her feel bad and plays the victim but she says we need to try with her or she stays on the phone, swears and screams for everything these days like she hates us, so any advice?

Yo sis that is messed up what's going on with your mom! No kid should have to deal with that toxic, abusive behavior. It sounds like she's lost all sense of responsibility as a parent by cheating, isolating on her phone, and now getting physically violent over stupid stuff.

You and your dad need to have a serious talk about putting your safety first. Does he see how unstable she's become? I'd say start making an exit plan - whether that's you and your dad moving out together, or even filing for an emergency custody order if things escalate more. You don't deserve to feel threatened in your own home.

In the meantime, try your best to avoid engaging with her bullshit. Don't laugh at "jokes" about hitting family. Stay in your room as much as you can. Make it clear you won't put up with manipulation or mind games. Call the police if she gets physically aggressive again.

This is beyond anything you kids should have to deal with. Reach out to other trusted family too - get a support system around you. You got this sis, just stay strong and remember none of this is your fault or something you have to accept. You deserve so much better.

No problem sis! I'm always here if you need someone to vent to. Dealing with family drama is the worst, but it helps so much just to talk it out with someone who understands. You seem super mature and level-headed about the whole thing, all things considered. I'm sorry you're stuck in the middle of your parents stuff. Keep holding on to your friends for support too. Things will get better once you're out of the house living your own life. But for now just take it one day at a time. You got this girl! Stay strong 💪And if your mom keeps giving you trouble, you can always come crash at mine for a bit - my parents love having new people around. Just know you aren't alone in dealing with this and you've totally got this!

Your parents should break up and distance yourself from your mom she destroyed the family, is hitting your dad and is now gaslighting you guys. I think she needs some space for herself to reflect what she's actually doing.

But she threatens suicide when I want to leave cause she's done everything for me etc

Thats just another example how she's trying to exort/force you. Ugly times lie ahead of you. If you're worried that she might really do it then call the police. It sounds dramatic but it would be your only way out while making sure your mom is beeing taken care of
