Is it bad to get attached to strangers on the internet, PLEASE help me what to do here?

I been talking to a guy on Reddit for weeks now. We don't even know our names, but got our emails, and we been discussing several topics about life and in general online, including the double standards on Reddit in some subs, and we really got along. Its just that he didn't message me since yesterday afternoon and I seen his comments 3 hours ago on a forum. He left yesterday in a middle of a conversation, and i thought it was strange. I don't know what to do now. Did he abandon me?

I feel got too attached because I liked talking to him.

Its not bad it’s just kinda weird, like where is this going anyway? Why are you attached without even knowing his name or even what he looks like? You need to tap back into the reality of what you’re doing and figure out what you want from this situation. If it’s to take things off Reddit and work towards something more serious then say that. If it’s not then you should find other ways to occupy your time when you aren’t hearing from him. Sometimes too much social media isn’t good for you.

It’s ok to be lonely, but there has to be a more productive way to navigate that feeling where a man isn’t involved. What about hanging out with friends or family? Getting out of the house, having a new experience? Having a boyfriend should only be an extension of an otherwise fulfilled life. That way when things like this happen and you stop hearing from a stranger you were chatting to online, it won’t be such a hurtful experience.

I have no friends, lost them all. I go out with family to town do shopping etc, and I watch korean dramas and research things on the internet, listen to music, and look at perfumes which is my big hobby thats on hold because I overspend my budget so I am in a tough situation right now.

Maybe there’s a more budget friendly hobby you’d be interested in, preferably one that gets you out of the house more aside from shopping with family. I hear you on the having friends qualm, by the time I hit 26 I was out of contact with all of mine and it’s not only isolating but lonely too. I started pushing myself to get outside and try things on my own that usually require company. I also used the neighborhood app to connect with people around me, made two friends on there which isn’t much but it’s been nice having them. Anyway, these are just suggestions. I know it’s not pertaining to whether or not you’ll hear from this guy again, but to address the loneliness aspect of this situation.

Before that, i been in constant interaction with my mates, if i can call them like that. We had a group on FB, we went out to restaurants, pubs, we basically were in contact all the time. Now i m ALL ALONE.

it seems like it's just casual conversation. i mean, you didn't even ask his name... so it's not as personal on a serious level. that's the way i see it and probably how he sees it

if you want to talk to him again, just ask him his name and also mention you like talking to him

Ohh he's just a stranger so the person whom you met online is highly likely to ghost or abandon you with no reason. Sure though, we can sometimes get attached someone very quickly but I am safely able to say that he's probably ignored you..
