My Chinese friend has been married for 10 years now. She's supposedly Asian and has no living white members in her family. Her parents and grandparents are Chinese too.
She got married to a very tall man with recessive traits (deep blue eyes and blonde hair). They have 3 kids. Their 1st and 2nd child got her dominant features (black hair, dark eyes and not that white) and looked Asian. However, their 3rd child (the last one born 9 months ago) is the carbon copy of her husband. He's their only blonde haired and blue eyed child. He looks nothing like my friend. No he isn't albino. He's white like his father.
In order for that to happen, my friend would need to have a copy of those genes. So this means my friend isn't fully Asian? She doesn't know anyone in her family with those recessive genes. She's kind of puzzled by it. It took her by surprise.

I know it s been three months since You asked, but I think it this happens all the time. Very often, the first kid takes after his parents , depending on their dominant genes, and the following siblings have different phisycal traits. But I can t know for sure, since it s something I had only observed.
My cousins for example:My uncle was blonde when he was little , with blue eyes, and his wife was somekind of a dark blonde , with green eyes. Their children came up like this:the boy (my cousin) is blue eyed and dark haired , and his sister is a redhead, also with blue eyes. How do you explain that? She surely took the genes from somebody from the family , like her grandparents.
Not necessarily. This could be a gene mutation.
yeah but a recessive gene usually happens as a result of a mutation
So my friend had to have passed out a mutated gene. Blue eyes for instance is a mutation that causes the iris to not produce melanin
