Besides honesty and trustworthiness, mutual effort. If I’m the one ALWAYS reaching out to you (whether to check on you or to plan something), I don’t consider you a friend. A real relationship is about mutuality.

But honestly, besides honesty and trustworthiness, I'd say the most important trait in a friend is their ability to appreciate a good ol' fashioned horror cock story. i don't want any more friends lol. it's very hard to keep track of the like 2 close friends that i have. i have my own life and they have their own lives, and jobs, etc.

i guess i'd just want someone understanding if i don't answer their text because i'm dealing with something mentally, or don't hang out for months at a time.

Mainly honesty and respect,, no longer into games and drama , mutuality is important as well but not a priority , Some people just have busy lives and don’t have time to keep reaching out to a friend every day of the week , , me personally can’t stand if a friend is calling me everyday , a text here and there is fine , but to call every day, is a little weird to me to be honest , I would think they have some sort of crush on me or they are overly obsessed with me lol I mean shit, how much can someone say to you without it getting boring lol , I know girls’ are different than guys’ when it comes to talking on the phone , Mainly because most females’ love gossip and drama and can’t talk for hours , but even so if a girl is constantly calling her girlfriend every day checking in on her , I would assume she was gay to be honest lol

Trust and effort. If I feel like I can't fully trust you, you're gone. Same with effort. I hate it when people put so little effort in others. If I notice I'm the only one who keep having to put effort in minting the friendship, I cut it off. Same with communication. Do I notice I'm the one who keep having to start the conversation or even reach out to hear from you? Then I won't bother anymore and you're not worth my energy and time anymore.

By having these standards since last year I slimmed down my amount of "friends" from 20-30 to only 5 true friends.
