What do you think of people who openly express their liking or dislike for other people?

If a person often says “i talked to this person and I really like them” or “I don’t get that person, I don’t like them that much they complain all the time”. Do you consider that a positive thing or is it too judgmental?

I think it's good to be open about that sort of thing. Expressing your opinions about someone openly doesn't make you any more or less judgmental, it just makes you open about your judgements, and that's not a bad thing. If someone doesn't like me, I'd much rather know, and it'd be even better if they said why so I can either work on that part of myself or avoid that person.

"Openly" suggests that they're not tactful. I think it depends how they do it. Also you need to take into account how often they do this. Maybe they have good reason.

My nephew recently started dating a woman who is very assertive. She comes to our family functions (holidays). That is fine everyone is welcome. But I think when you're at a family function and NOT a member of the family you should remember you're a GUEST and conduct yourself as such. I since have had conversations with my other family members, one on one to get thier views. Because I don't want strife. But I can't help what I feel. But this NOT something I do often. In fact this is the ONLY time I can ever remember doing it.

By the way, my other family members said they don't think she meant anything by her actions. So for the time being I'm just operating from the assumption that it's just a misunderstanding. So, we'll see where we go from here.
