What do you think of people who are hostile to strangers while being friendly to their own friends?

Since there are people who are easily suspicious and puts a serious face (no smiling) towards strangers and talks in a straightforward mind, what do you think of people who are not being warm and being direct. Like for example :
"Who are you?"
"What do you want?"
"Do I know you?"
Etc.
No Hi, How Are You, Nice Meetin' ya, etc. None.
If you met a guy or a girl who are like this, what do you think personally of these kind people who are hostile to others?
