No matter where you go you hear people saying dumb shit that advocates the total destruction of the opposite political wing. People don’t realize government isn’t MEANT to be efficient.
I went to a convenience store yesterday, it had a deli so I got lunch. It was hot as fuck, no AC in there, so I bought the cashier a soda, because they only have bottles, not fountain drinks which are typically free to employees. He’s pretty socially awkward in a goofy way, has entire conversations with the TV while ringing you up, but wasn’t hostile so I had no reason to dislike him.
Some church got hit by a lightning strike, and he started saying it should’ve been liberal owned buildings. I’m not a liberal myself, I’m a moderate, but I really wanted to question his line of thinking. I did let it go because he struck me as a guy who wasn’t too comfortable with confrontation.
But it gets me thinking, as much as people bitch and complain about the other political spectrum, it’s needed. Checks and balances.
Here’s another thing to. When a group of like minded individuals are gathered and validated amongst themselves, even the most mild beliefs turn radical.
In other words: You can have
“I think transgender is pretty weird, but as long as they don’t bother me idc”
to “ transgenderism is the next evolution in humans and everyone should be one”
Or “I think people are getting too sensitive and too lazy”
to
”Holocaust never happened, all muslims are terrorists, all blacks are gangbangers, all mexicans are rapists” etc.
You think it’s exaggerated but it really isn’t. And yes, I included examples from both sides.

Social media, mostly. Once it became possible to live 95% of your life without ever having to confront an opposing opinion, people began abandoning the idea of reasoning through their beliefs (which wasn't exactly popular to begin with), and gradually lost their understanding of the fact that people who disagree with you aren't your enemies.
Couple that with declining interest in history (to show what happens when an idea has no open opposition amongst the populace) and it's not hard to see what was going to happen.
Just going to leave this here... I can't stand either side.
Agreed. Except for that top picture, the right side don’t pick me up, it’s like they both push me back and forth.
Because the longer the political elites can keep people alienated from each other, the longer those elites can slap each other on the back as they screw over everyone else.
