I just learnt that a guy that I used to love and had considered renewing a friendship with, was trying to use me for money. He was probably pretending to like me because I’m from a well off family. It’s not devastating. However l’m feeling burnt out. It should pass. A mutual friend advised me that blocking him was the best move.

People like that look for victims and don’t really care about involving feelings. The are cold blooded sharks that will go through anything, trying to butter you up with words and promises.


Once they got what they wanted from you, you are history and they will move to the next victim.

Of course you should keep him blocked, stay away from that no-account bum. Never tell anybody your family has money. It's none of their business. People do terrible things for money. You need to be smarter than that.

I didn’t tell him. At least not intentionally. He was always bragging about his family’s wealth and I was staying quiet until he accused me of being a gold digger type. I said I wasn’t, that I didn’t need his money…

There are plenty of guys looking for a rich girl so they can live off her money or take it from her. Look for a guy who doesn't care about money, doesn't talk about money all the time. Stay away from gamblers, drug addicts, and materialistic guys who have expensive tastes.
