How to get rid of the family leach?

I told Grandma after her forty year old who does nothing son moves his stuff out we can make over the room. I will pay for it. He can sleep in the sitting room. Or the couch in the hallway. Or leave. We can throw out his things that doesn't fit in the sitting room away. most of his things will be tossed. He said that's not fair. He can't sleep on a loveseat. He better not come home one day and all of his stuff is gone.

He said it's not true he does nothing. He said she constantly needs him and he doesn't have a car to get to work and if we knew everything he has to do and what he puts up with every day we'd understand.

The son mooches off her and they don't get along well. Grandma didn't think it was fair either. But I think I can talk her into this. I would like my kids and my husband to have a remodeled room when we visit. We plan to have the kids visit more. We might stay the whole summer. I think this will be good for everyone. I am paying for the remodel.
