Not sure, but both my great grandmother and great great grandmother both lived to 102. I've got a newspaper clipping of my g grandmother transporting farm goods by canoe to the market when she was 90 years old, 4 miles downstream and then upstream to her farm three times a week.

Joe Biden was at the surrender at Appomattox. He is well 150 years old. This was after he was at The Alamo. He was there with Davy Crockett and Jim Bowie. This was 1835 so he must be pushein 200 years old. He looks good for 200 , don;t you think?

The oldest person I ever met was 102 (customer at old job), last time I saw him he was 104. I believe he lived to 107 or 108. He was a WW2 vet. Think the oldest person ever was between 117-122 which is insane.

The problem is it's often impossible to confirm they're genuine because the birth certificate they show isn't necessarily theirs but that of a parent with the same name.

    122. Jeanne Calment, a French woman. Unlikely that there would’ve been anyone that old in the past without semi modern medicine. You won’t find anyone much older than that ever without an incredible scientific breakthrough. Human cells can’t continue to divide once reaching the Hayflick limit and after that they can only die. This process has normally been completed in humans by 120 years. That’s pretty much the maximum for human lifespan.

I'm too tired to Google it. But I want to share a fact with you. A study of centenarians found that most people who reach the age of 100 or more, were coffee drinkers.

According to Guinness, a woman named Jeanne Calment, who was 122.45 (or so) when she died. Someone COULD have done better before modern record keeping; avoid telomere degeneration and it's theoretically possible, but it's not likely.

      METHUSELAH.

A mythical character of fiction and not a real person. Humans can’t live that long.

@OfDeath We possibly could if there were no diseases to kill us. In the days of Methuselah there were not that many people on Earth and not a lot of disease from chemicals or air pollution. God wanted men to populate the Earth so he let them live longer. For instance, in the 1200s people were lucky to live to age 40. Now we live to be 90 if disease doesn't get us first.

That’s the sort of thing the church tells people to guilt them into worshipping them. “Believe in me so I can save you from what I will do if you don’t”.

A non threat for someone like me.

If you believe the Bible, maybe it's Mary, the mother of Jesus. She never died, just ascended into heaven, which means she is still alive, more than 2000 years after her birth.

There is nothing in the Bible that says Mary ascended to Heaven, like Enoch and a few others who didn't have a physical death.

@Daniela1982 I was raised a Catholic and went to Catholic schools, where the nuns taught me that Mary was raised up into heaven, called the Assumption of Mary; they never said anything about her dying first.

There was no proper records of the Date of Birth of an individual in ancient days.

Jeanne Calment of France lived 122 years and 164 days.

@AngryCarl most likely, but then, with environmental shifts, and the ebbs and flows of ice ages and mini ice ages, and the loss of the Library of Alexandria, we don't know, many believe we will never completely recover from that loss of knowledge
