How do I make friends?

I’m a 24yoF, I’m new to the area and have 0 friends. There aren’t many girls/guys my age that want to open their friend circle and I find it really hard to find friends. What can I do? I live in the UK. I’ve tried bumble friends, I even go to uni but the 18 year olds are so different to me even though we have a 6 year age gap. I find that I get on with girls who are in their late 20’s.

Join a club or local volunteer centre.
this is a fairly common thing in university cities.
In Cambridge they are a lot of volunteering opportunities, they are on notice boards and internal intranet.
if you are decent at sports, there are a multitude of sports from active ones such as women’s football, rugby, netball, to archery, and other less active sports.

Try hobbies were you meet other people. Like in CrossFit there's usually many girls if you prefer that. Some people do activly try to find friends in such clubs and its much easier as you already have something in common.

Join large organizations that have a common purpose, where you're with a lot of people for long periods of time. Even a church is a good place for that.

if you are in college yeah it's a bit hard to make friends. but once you're in the work force, i think it'll be easier for you.

I can understand what you have said. Friendship is something that is tough for me too so I am not sure what I can say.
