What's a habit one of your parents have/had that you now have as an adult?

For me, it's my mom's giving nature. She would help anyone she could even to her own detriment. I find myself doing the same with people I know.

I sometimes talk like my oldest brother, do funny/stupid shit like my third oldest brother, clean freak like my second oldest brother, then bossy like my younger sister, flexible like my second youngest sister and smart like my youngest sister. There's 7 of us kids counting me three older brothers three younger sister cuz I'm the middle child s three boys four girls. My mom though I set alarms then wake up before they even go off like my mom but then again I am a light sleeper and don't usually sleep often like my dad but what I got from both parents was I'm a hard worker, kind, honest to a fault, leadership skills, intelligence, loyalty, and common sense.

The gift of gab. From my dad. My playfulness comes from my mom, my adventurous nature from her, my stubbornness from my dad, my habit of being forward and friendly and open is from my mom. I think my dad has ADHD undiagnosed and I have ADHD diagnosed.

My dad wore clothes out, literally. When i was cleaning out his apartment i found shirts that were nearly transparent they were so worn out. Barely enough fabric to hold onto the years of stains. Ell oh ell!
What’s funny is that i do that too, but i didn’t learn it from him. My mother divorced my dad before i could learn much from him at all. I simply am my father’s son.

My dad was also super calm & laid back but if a criminal was rumored to be in the neighborhood he would pull out a huge stick & go patrolling the whole neighborhood by himself. This was in a major city not the middle of nowhere. I have that same kind of spirit except I upgraded to modern weapons.

Mine is very similar to yours. My mom was very selfless and I find myself being very much the same way. I often put others needs ahead of my own and that can be a double edged sword for sure

Wash the dishes right after I am done eating. My mum has a terrible OCD that she can’t stand seeing messy kitchen. As for my dad, I am generous like him.

Little to no interest in alcohol, which goes for the last three generations. And none of them zealots or teetotalers, just people who drank no hard liquor and beer or wine a few times a year.
