My niece is 5. Everytime I get onto her for doing something wrong she gets upset. Like she feels terrible that she did it and is always apologetic to me. Im a teacher (church preschool). When I do it I use my teacher voice. I'm stern but not mean. She like boohoo cries. My sister (her mother) & father say she acts like that because she looks up to me and doesn't like to disappointment me. I just don't know what to think. I said today maybe I should stop getting onto her 😅🤷‍♀️. What do y'all think? And be nice.

If she's really apologetic, then why does she keep doing the same things? If she does something for the first time then I could see that maybe she does look up to you and doesn't want you to think badly of her.

You can’t change bad behavior by rewarding it. Keep doing what you’re doing.
