What's the response to give when people ask why i'm so quiet?

I rarely speak in work, because it's toxic. So I only speak if it's work related. I don't talk about my personal life, because they're all gossips and two-faced.

I'm always told I'm quiet, which is true, but I'm ridiculed for it. What's the best response to make when someone asks why I'm so quiet?

ugh i know this issue way too well... ever since kindergarten

i once talked and ended up in a toxic co-worker group that just kept spewing out hate. they all ended up leaving the job, thank god. i don't ever speak about my personal life after that whole issue. i'm still kind of trying to recover from all of that negativity and it's been over a year...

honestly just say "because i have nothing to say" and then go back to work

could also go the rude way and say "why are you so talkative?" lol

Tell them instead of asking why you're so quiet, maybe they should look at their own behavior and why they think it's okay to ridicule someone?

"Why are you so quiet?" the classic shallow NPC question, I was asked that question also a lot. You just cannot answer that question seriously since its so stupid, best is to just answer it with a joke
