Guys, do you WANT kids, or are you just OK with the fact that one day you will have one?

Do you want, as in do you expect to actively try for a baby or more, or are you just ok with it, if it ever were to happen or if your wife would put pressure on you?

I just saw a question from a woman complaining that she wants kids and a stable relationship as much as guys want sex, and that's why I began to wonder about this.

Every once in a while I think about having kids one day, then I remind myself that aside from being hilarious and a decent gaming buddy, children are otherwise all downsides to me. So I play video games and joke around with other people's kids instead, and this means I never have to change a dirty diaper or replace broken collectables or deal with a screaming trantrum.
I'm the designated "cool uncle" type of person, I'll entertain your kids but as soon as they become a hassle they are the parents' problem again, and thats about as close to having kids as I ever care to be.

But after my firstborn, I deemed it "fair" to him that we should have at least one more.

This is because as a math guy, when 2 parents look after 1 kid, the effort is 50% each parent. However, if the child wants to look after the parents in their old age, the effort is 200% for the child.

This is why immediately after our first child, we plan for our second.

I don't want kids. I worry too much. If somebody hurt my kid, I'd beat them and go to jail or worse.
