Would you go talk to a neighbor if they were being loud?

Question

I have a toddler who goes to bed at 8 and is up at 6-7 am and has a nap time at 12-2. My neighbor has recently starting practicing with his electric guitar at the hours my baby is asleep. I close all the windows but he’s right next door.

No need. I've dealt with all kinds of issues through prayer and the name of our Lord and savior, Jesus Christ., often I make use binding and loosing in the name of Jesus. For example, we had a hooded man that kept on coming around the area, smoking drugs and just hanging around behind our alley. He would arrive almost every single day at a specific time, walk all of the way around our property and just stand around sometimes. We didn't know where he came from or why he was there. After he was bound from the area in Jesus' name, we never saw him again.

On another occasion there were a group of drunk people that kept on hanging out outside the front making lots of noise, arguing, swearing and also looked like they were dealing drugs. After we bound them, they also vanished.

We also had a problem person that kept on coming around on a specific day of the week and we discovered they were up to no good so we bound them in Jesus' name. Never saw them again. Note that there is a responsibility when binding and loosing, you have to have faith and understand the scriptures. Through the name of Jesus, we have dealt with all kinds of issues at home and even at work. Therefore in answer to your question, no, I would not talk to them. I would bind them in the name of Jesus!

You will notice that most, if not all responses will involve going to man to solve issues caused by man. This is the carnal way and the least effective mostly. You can do both too of course, but I've seen more results calling on God.

By the way, when people try to tell me all of this was a coincidence, I can tell them at least 7 other examples within the last few months where results occurred in the space of 1 day!

Just politely go knock on their door , don’t go over there like a bat out of hell , just politely tell them you have a toddler sleeping and if they don’t mind turning it down during that time and apologize for the inconvenience, if they are decent human beings they wil turn it down , if not? Then call the cops and find out what time your area has to turn it down. Most areas are 10 pm on the weekdays and 11 pm on the weekends , if they continue to be loud after that time , you can press charges on them

Ugh, that's so frustrating! I'd definitely go talk to the neighbor. Just be super chill about it – maybe mention how you have a toddler with a strict sleep schedule and ask if they could practice at a different time. Most people are pretty understanding when it comes to kids, and it doesn't hurt to try for some peace and quiet! ✌️😴🎸

yes, i would. but check your state noise ordinance times. i think it's usually 10pm. if it's at 10pm, then you can put in an actual complaint

I'd talk to them, yes. Especially in the evening. If it's after 8pm and they're playing loud enough to disturb another household that's unreasonable behaviour.

During the day is different because it's during the day, but it still boils down to maintaining a cordial relationship with your neighbours

7am and earlier is inviting you to call law enforcement. Especially if they're shit musicians.

There's enough ways to practice an electric guitar without disturbing anyone - headphones being the best example. I play myself and I either practice using an acoustic guitar or with headphones. It's just common courtesy.

Depends. My view is this. Anyone with any common sense, wold not be practicing an electric guitar when he KNOWS it would disturb someone.

I had a similar problem, with a guy and his buds practicing in his garage next to my home. He KNEW it as heard all over the cul-de-sac. He eventually knocked it off.

Cops could be a consideration but not good for long term neighbor relationship. If cops are called, it should be for something pretty substantial

I would. And depending on your situation I would either go to the store or the thrift store and buy a set of headphones that way he can plug it in and he's the only one that can hear it nobody else and say thank you

I would mention it, nicely. He might not even realize. I do not share any walls with neighbors, but when I practice outside of my soundproof studio I play on low volume or via a headphone amp out of respect for others.

I will definitely talk to them, and if they are inconsiderate, I will do something else like talking to the property manager or call the police, but in general I will avoid problems with my neighbors because I don't want any headaches.
