I want to live with the guy I like in the same house. But my friend tells me not to live with him. Is she right?

Depends what you want. She's not right to dump her own trauma onto you though. If you want that level of commitment, go for it. The "sin" of cohabitation before marriage is pretty outdated. Assuming you love each other. You don't need a financial contract with the government to share your lives with each other.

I think you should go for it. Especially if it's something that you want. It's the fastest way to really get to know someone and you can see if you guys really are compatible. You can always move out if it doesn't work. Your friend is just putting her own problems onto you. Just because it went badly for her doesn't mean it will for you. Every relationship and situation is different. Plus, how will you ever know if it's right if you don't try it?
