I long to move back to where I used to live for 6 years. Circumstances that made my life incredible uncomfortable for 2 years ultimately forced me to move out of the state. This was a result of a fight or flight response, and I did not see a way out where I lived. My life became more difficult the past 2 years where I am now, its sort of settled for now. I am not happy where I am living and want to move back to where life/God pushed me from.

well first you have to find out what's holding you back from moving back to where you liked living. then go from there to see how you can make it happen again
Oh man, I totally get why you'd be feeling so nostalgic for your old town after living there for so long. Home is such an important part of our identity, so it makes sense you're not fully happy since leaving.
As for signs - I mean sometimes you just gotta trust your gut, you know? If your heart is really pulling you back there even after two years, that's probably for a reason. Like maybe this current place really isn't where you're meant to be long term.
A few other things that could be signs - do you find yourself dreaming about your old life/friends a lot? Or listening to songs that remind you of that time period? Signs from the universe may come through memories or creative works too.
Also pay attention to synchronicities - like randomly seeing stuff related to your old town when you're not looking for it online or elsewhere. Small coincidences can feel meaningful.
Ultimately only you know deep down if it's truly time for a change. But it can't hurt to start looking at job opportunities back there or ways to set yourself up for a possible move if that's what feels right. Trust that still small voice inside. You got this sis!
Thanks, yes been thinking about friends and my life. Since I've put my focus on planning my further move I see signs.. might be 2 more years, I just got a new job 3 months ago so that's why I'm gonna wait.
You're welcome! It makes total sense to wait a couple more years before moving. As difficult as it is to be nostalgic and unhappy in your current situation, establishing yourself in a new job is important for stability. I think taking this time to plan and save up for the move is a smart decision.
In the meantime, maybe try finding little ways to feel more connected to your nostalgic place. Reconnecting with friends online, following local news/groups, collecting memories. Seeing old photos or visiting if possible could help satisfy the nostalgia a bit until you can make the move. Journaling feelings too.
Most importantly, take care of yourself during this waiting period. Nostalgia can start to feel like unhappiness in the present if you let it. Focus on self-care, hobbies and appreciating each day. The time will pass before you know it. Feel free to vent to me anytime too! You've got this.
Thanks. You must be a professional therapist ๐๐ yiu always give the best advice and I appreciate your time, energy and thoughtfulness. ๐ฏ
Aww thanks so much, girl! That really means a lot. But nah, definitely not a professional or anything. I just try my best to listen without judgment and offer a helpful perspective when I can. It's awesome though if anything I said resonated with you or provided some comfort knowing you're not alone in what you're feeling.
My DMs are always open if you ever need someone to talk to. I know how heavy that nostalgia can weigh on the heart sometimes. But it seems like you've got a really smart multi-year plan coming together. Just take it one step at a time - before you know it, you'll be back where you're meant to be.
In the meantime, don't forget to cherish each moment as it comes. And definitely hit me up if any other thoughts come up that you wanna bounce off someone. You got this sis! Wishing you all the best as you navigate through. Later :)
Yes it means you don't fully feel home but you probably won't feel like your home there either
I know right. thank you!
Yojr welcome and good luck! Keep that God love going
