Are you friends with people who have very different beliefs than you?

I have friends, aquaintences and colleagues who come from many different backgrounds and beliefs. Some of them I really get along with and have even learned from, some I have absolutely no respect for and everything in between.

But I've been seeing videos in the internet of people going "oh, I had to cut my family off because they still vote (whatever the thing was)"

Don't get me wrong, I don't associate with people who I don't think are good people. And I've been complimented for the company I keep many times. Why do people have such a hard time getting along?

yes, i just don't tell them my beliefs/politics or mention it. ever. they do, tho, all the time, i just nod my head. i'm not about to get into an argument over which president i prefer and lose a friend over it... some people just think they're the right ones and if you don't agree with them or say they're right, they turn into toddlers and walk way.

Yes, as long as they are not trying to drag me into them. I don’t mind, their belief their rules.
For me beliefs are personal choice.

Every possible human on the planet in NYC. Tolerance is a way of life by necessity. It's beautiful and complex and awe inspiring. There is ALWAYS something new to learn, try, discuss!! It's truly the most cosmopolitan place on the planet!!
