How do you deal with a district backing a bus driver that’s making my kids bus ride a living hell?

She’s written them up multiple times for very stupid things one day she threw a fit over a window. She said “why did you open that window, do you need the window open, why don’t you put it up” and my son did put the window up but I guess she had nothing else to complain about that day so she went with that, so he got suspended off the bus for a day.

I know that kids exaggerate sometimes but this bus driver is downright MEAN and I didn’t really believe that she was that bad until I went to the transportation department and pulled the videos in multiple of these videos she was saying absolutely horrible things to the kids. The bus barn will not do anything about it the transportation supervisor and director got a really snooty attitude and went on this massive rant about my kids misbehavior and on and on.

She has favorites she has kids that she allows to do what they want to do, gives them candy, even soda while other kids she basically gives them the cold shoulder unless she’s literally screaming like a banshee at them.

When I talked to her she seemed super nice she was a totally different person especially when I met with her before the school year started at a meet your bus driver event. I’ve tried talking to this lady but she basically got a attitude with me which led me to saying some not so nice things and ever since then my kids have became a target for her.

She also loves making comments about kids including my kids like “oh why are you wearing shorts it’s 20 degrees oh hehe” she told me son once to go ride the short bus, she told my daughter that she’s one chromosome short of having 6 toes, and just really hateful stuff. Sit down and shut up. Calling kids stupid. Telling kids that their parents didn’t raise them rigjt. Telling kids that they smell bad and need deodorant. She also leaves kids at bus stops and comes 5 minutes ahead of the time she’s supposed to be there. She didn’t let my daughters friend on the bus because friend on for dress code.

My daughters friend was NOT breaking the dress code according to the administrators. But for some reason again Donnas bosses backed her.

If you want her removed, assuming she’s not in some kind of union, you’ll need to gather evidence of this mistreatment and present it as abuse. You’ll have to get other parents and other kids involved, get them to agree to come forward with said documented evidence, filing lots of complaints with the school about the driver in order to encourage them to do something. And you’ll need to do it as a substantial group.

That’s another problem is that some of the kids on the bus love her and so do the parents. This woman is VERY good at talking herself out of trouble.

Some of it isn’t even her yelling and screaming and even cussing at kids. Sometimes it’s just snide comments she makes and acts like it’s a big joke

We have been trying to present evidence and I appreciate the answer. I’ve tried every other route including talking to her directly. Because like I said. She seemed really good at first and I looked forward to the kids ridding the bus.

But I don’t know she’s just gotten worse over last school year and now the same shit again this one. Including making them sit in assigned seats while letting other kids sit anywhere they want

Even when I watched the video with her and her bosses. Her making comments to my daughter was my final straw and I tried having a adult conversation with her as I have in the past for other incidents. But she got very hateful with me and I wasn’t very nice.

It’s been ever since then she’s been picking on my kids and everyone says that she has kids on the bus she likes and can do no wrong but there’s others she’s picking on over everything

Thanks. This woman is just a pain in the ass it could be some Union situation I don’t really know. Maybe it’s the shortage of drivers.

There are other parents having problems with drivers but she’s one of the worst in the district according to a friend I have whose also a school bus driver. Most of the drivers my kids had before I’ve been able to work with but not her.

I’ve been talking to other parents from what I know she was switched off another route last year because she got too many complaints. So…. Lucky us

We have pulled the cameras and I think she’s been uploaded to YouTube before despite recording not being allowed

Yeah we’ve been reaching out and have pulled the kids off the bus though it’s hard with our work schedule.

Her name is Donna and she used to work for another school district that I think she retired from but she was pretty much shown the door
