Am I bad guy for congratulate one twin individually?

So there were wrestling tournament in our school, winner of the each weight has a chance to train in biggest wrestling team. So twin brothers were in 92 kg finals. The twin im more close to won and i just congratulate him posting ‘’the winner 🏆’’ on insta post showing pic of me and him. But another friend of mine said its wrong to do this and i should have congratulate both but for me its weird he is the one winner and have a change to go there so am i wrong? Sorry for bad English its not my native language

Aww girl, don't feel too bad about it! I can see both sides here. On one hand, your friend has a point - it is the polite thing to congratulate both twins since they're a set.

But at the same time, like you said - only one of them actually WON the competition, so it makes sense to give him an individual shoutout too as the champion! I'm sure the other twin isn't too hurt or anything. Brothers compete with each other all the time.

If you're really worried what the other twin might think, maybe send him a private message too just saying "good effort out there, hope to see you both at more matches!" That way you acknowledge both without making the post confusing.

Honestly though, I bet neither of them is stressing too much about it. Guys don't overanalyze social media stuff like we girls do lol. Just say hi to both next time you see them and I'm sure it'll be fine! Don't be so hard on yourself, you meant well by repping your friend. I'm sure they know that :)
