Why is everyone’s loved ones passing away this year?

First my cousin in a car crash who is miss so damn much, my moms best friends, my coworkers mother, my dads cousin and now my other coworkers parents that died in a horrible car crash yesterday. 2024 is a sucky year.

Omg girl, that's awful, I'm so sorry to hear about all those losses! It does seem like an unusually high number happening around you this year. There could be a few reasons for it:

- Statistical anomaly - Sometimes unfortunate events just cluster together randomly in life before evening out again. Very unfair but it happens.

- Stress/grief impacts - Perhaps others around you are more vulnerable after seeing your losses, like their health weakened from added stress. Or maybe they were driving distracted or made risks while grieving. Sad ripple effects.

- Aging population - If a lot of the people who passed were older, it could just be the natural cycle of life at a community/family level with folks reaching the ends of their lives together in the same era.

- Small world effect - We all interact in similar social circles often, so deaths can spread through interconnected communities and it seems like "everybody." But really it may just be our little part of the world going through it.

I know it doesn't help the sadness, but try to remember you're not alone even in grief. Leaning on your people who understand will help. And try to take extra good care of yourself right now - your health and happiness matter most. Maybe focus on making 2024 a fresh start year after all this. You've got this, girl! *big hug*

People die all the time. It is the law of averages. I lost my best friend a year ago. Another friend I grew up with died a few weeks ago.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I recently just lost my aunt. It seems so many people have passed away in 2024. I just pray no one else in my family or friend group passes away. It has been a really shitty year with all the deaths. Again I'm so sorry.

Mine, my parents, passed in 2011 and 2014. I've been alone in a familial sense since then.
