Is it normal to think it’s sadder when younger people die compared to older people?
I mean the young people didn’t get to live a long live while the elderly people did get to

I believe the average youth has a higher capacity for happiness and pleasure and growth and love then an old person whose emotional and physical senses are weaker, so it is a lot worse if a child or young adult dies. When a 103 year old person dies, you are celebrating their legacy and their entrance into Heaven. When a young person dies, you are mourning the fact they never married or had kids.
I don't necessarily feel sad for the elderly person that died, I feel sad for the people they left behind. Obviously, the spouse (if they had one) and children. When a young person dies, I feel sad for everyone involved. My dad recently died, I felt relieved that we, as a family, no longer have to watch him suffer but the pain I see in my mom's eyes eyes every day tears me apart.
sort of because older people have already lived their lives and done a good bit of what they wanted to do whereas young people haven't had much of any experience, yet. It reminds me of yesterday, seeing a dead brand new baby deer on the roadside. The poor thing couldn't have been more than a week or 2 old! It hasn't even BEGUN to live its life!!
