Family is evicted…?

My family recently got evicted. (Mom, dad and two brothers over the age of 20) I live in a 1 bedroom small apartment and my parents are pressuring me to let ALL of them stay until they save up enough money. They were suppose to move into a place 2 weeks ago but they never had enough money to fund it. The only people working are my dad and brother. The problem is they don’t have a set date when they will be leaving. I don’t know what to do, I don’t have the room or the mental capacity to give up my small space but I don’t want to see my family homeless.

This sounds like a bunch of very irresponsible people. "Until..." could be a very long time. They are adults, you don't have an ethical obligation to take care of people who won't take care of themselves.

If you are renting, it's probably against your lease to have more than two people living in your apartment, or to have anyone not on the lease there for more than a few weeks. So you have a good reason to refuse.

Unless there's a compelling reason or something else we don't know about is caused a bad relationship with you and your parents you absolutely let them stay there that's your family for Pete's sake.. shouldn't even be a question unless like your mom beat you or your dad used to molest you or something but if there's no s*** like that going on f*** yeah you should f****** let him stay there that's your f****** family man

If the roles would be reversed, would they welcome you to stay with them?


I don't understand the situation because my door is always open for any family member. But I am fully aware that not everyone is as close to their family as I am.

idkk your history with them but if they did right by you then you gotta let them in

Well, if you deny them, they’re gonna be living on the streets homeless it’s an easy decision for me take them in

Suggest they stay for a week but have them book a hotel to be living in starting the following week
