Is it normal to hardly have any good friends at age 30?

I am recently engaged, so I will say upfront I am very grateful about that and I am not nearly as lonely or stressed as I used to be. I love my fiance dearly.

Although, I just did some reflection and realized I do only have one or two good male friends and have lost many friends throughout the years.

I was wondering if this is normal.

As you get older you will find yourself with less friends and more acquaintances, because as you get out of bad habits, stop partying so much, and a bit of politics, you will find those who are on in it for the party, those with horrible morals, those who get themselves arrested for doing shady shit, those who are only hanging around you for the drinking or drugs, ... etc. suddenly drop off or don't make an effort to stay in contact with you, then you find who are your actual friends, who are your acquaintances, and who were just there to fuel their bad habits. It's all part of life

Shit happens. It takes time and labor to maintain a friendship and as you grow older that's an increasingly tough commodity to find.

I also ran into the situation where we no longer had things in common and they refused to grow up and I wanted to.

yes and no, it depends on the circumstances. As long as you are happy and comfortable. Good friends who stay in the long haul is so important to have though. If you want to have more friends in your life, it is more than okay to build new friendships :)

It's very normal, particularly is you've been dealing with some stuff for a while that has taken too much time, if you have moved to a different city etc. I don't have any friends at the moment, but i'm kinda unsocial

It can be normal for some. People move away, you get more invested in your relationship compared to friendships, etc. There are lots of reasons that could happen.

it happens... the reasons can vary from person to person... but if you are already aware, start to work on adding people to your friends' circle
