How to keep my mom out of your room?

i am 21 and still live with my mom and well she is nosy and goes in my room all the time to clean how do i make her stop doing that?

Everyone is entitled to his/her privacy and even you as an adult, you are entitled to have it. You live with your mom in her house and unfortunately, as such, she has the authority to go into your room.

I would seek the conversation with you mother about you being able to have a minimum of privacy.

If she goes to clean, I suppose it is because your room may look like a mess. It is your duty as a "guest" to ensure that your room is clean and if it is, then she has no need to clean it.

I fear that there is more to it than just the cleaning. Did you ever give her a reason not to trust you? Did you ever do something that made her be suspicious about you? If yes, then there is not much you can do but prove to her that you are trustworthy and that she should respect your privacy.

i never give her a reason to not trust me and well i do not know what to do like my mom does not want me to move out she says i have to be with her all my life and also i can never have a boyfriend my mom says i should stay single all my life just because she does not want me to have the same experience she lived with my dad, also my mom has not gotten me an ID so technically legally i am not 21 i might have turned 21 on July 2nd of last year but i do not have an ID thanks to my mom since she does not get it for me

If you think that your mom is keeping you from having your freedom or deliberately does things to harm you or to sabotage your health or keeps you from living a normal life, then you have the option to seek assistance from a free legal advice agency or support of a government sponsored assistance program.

i tried asking her for privacy but what happened is that when i ask her for that she thinks i keep hiding something in my room when it is not true

i do not know why she does not trust me but all i know is that i never hide nothing but she thinks i do and even right now she just said that if i was hiding something in my room and i said no because its true i am not hiding anything

Not really sure you can do much if she has such mistrust. That is her issue.

I lock the door. But it's best to let her know beforehand so she doesn't faceplant into a door.

Locks maybe a safe if you have things to hide and keep the key around your neck at all times

Well first you ask her please stay out of my room that's my my world that's mine sanctuary and if she can't then you go down to home Depot and you get one of those electronic fence tasers and you hook it up to the other side of your door so when she puts her hand on the door handle she gets a little crap out of her and when she wakes up from the floor she'll say what happened I don't know Mom you're down there sleeping
