Family drama on Monday about who would be spending Thanksgiving with my mother (fractured family.) Drama resolved on Tuesday. I had a friend die Wednesday morning as a result of a lingering illness; he was the brother of my partner. Cooked Wednesday night, including pumpkin cheesecake. Thursday was the trip to my mom's house to eat overcooked, dry turkey but at least we didn't have that horrid green bean casserole. Last night my wife gave me "that look" and called me to bed early, but then she fell asleep before anything happened. This morning, I could have slept as late as I wanted but I still woke up at 6:30 am. Did laundry this morning, some house cleaning, then met my partner for lunch. Tomorrow, I'll probably meet my partner for lunch and we'll watch our college football team lose their final game of the season. Sunday, I will attend church, as usual, and perhaps longer a bit afterwards to play the grand piano at church. Monday morning, it's back to the grind.
Not the greatest of holidays, but
I am healthy
My wife is healthy
We live in a safe and comfortable home
We have more than enough money to take care of our necessities
I am still able to work, and I love my job
My wife is still able to work and she loves her job
I don't have enemies
We will have a nice December
We will go on a 9 day cruise in January
So, in the grand scheme of things, I still give thanks for my blessings.
It was great. I went to my sisters house, had amazing food, and we had a dance party after dinner lol. That’s the usual for every year
Really nice. I think we got it down with how well we work together.
this year we all went to my older sister’s house.
I made a spreadsheet as usual…and assigned who will make/bring what.
I got the turkey, ham, salad, corn, cranberry sauce. My daughter made 2 apple pies the first time and it came out very yummy.
my brothers family - sweet potatoes casserole, Brussels sprouts, treats
my older sister got the drinks, Shepards pie, asparagus,
my little sister bought drinks and pumpkin pie and tiramisu.
we met our oldest nieces boyfriend. He fit well with our family.
today, I’m down with a bad cold/flu or Covid… so just resting. No Black Friday silly things.
hopefully I feel better soon and start my report cards.
Hope you had a festive yummy one.

I ate at Denny’s by myself the pictures in my profile of the food
Eating out on Thanksgiving is always the best. The restaurant does the cooking & cleaning & all you have to do is sit down, order, eat, pay & go on your way.
Somewhat sad tbh. My family isn’t what it used to be
I’m pretty glad it’s over honestly. My social battery was running on a used AA
Got hit by a drunk driver, but did manage to have a decent meal.
It really was great this year.
1st.
